The Greatest God of All Time?

Peter Drury commentary while Argentina through their El Capitán, Lionel ‘Alien’ Messi, being awarded the FIFA World Cup for 2022 Qatar by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Qatar’s Emir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani,

“…He was beautiful…He was the point of difference….he has always been…the point of difference….unparalleled….and maybe today there will…of course always be those who argue…always be those who debate…and the debate could rage on if you like…But as he falls in love…with the object in the world that his heart most desired…it is hard to escape the supposition…that he has rendered himself today…THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!…”

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Pete Sampras, Rod Lever, Pele, Diego Maradona, Ronaldo (R9), Johan Cruyff, Zinedine Zidane, Cristiano Ronaldo (CR7), Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Jerry West, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, LeBron James, Usain Bolt, and many more Godly players that were born to play different discipline of sports gracing the human beings on this planet with their magic. Is Lionel ‘Alien’ Messi (aka Leo Messi) the GREATEST GOD among such Godly players?

I would never say that Leo Messi is the only Godly player. That’s ridiculous and outrageous. Among all the Godly players to grace the eyes of the human beings on this planet, I strongly feel he is the Greatest God.

Even the data and statistics support this notion. The rivalry between CR7 and Leo Messi is greatest in this discipline. As Leo Messi rightly agreed to this CR7’s emotional and respectful statement,

…we’ve shared this stage for more than 15 years. Same two guys, always there. It has never happened before in this beautiful game. I loved playing in Spain. He pushed me, I pushed him. We’re great friends, but we haven’t had a dinner together, Yet…

-CR7 at UEFA Awards

I can agree with Sir CR7 too.

But coming to the game style of both Godly players. CR7 is a goalscorer. He does provide assist too. But the position on the pitch from where he provides assist is the question for comparison with Leo Messi. Though, Leo Messi has on multiple occasions been called and referred to as the Alien, Sorcerer and what not. Forget about his goals that he scores; his assists are ‘out-of-the-world’, and this is just not my opinion but many godly players and great players from various sporting disciplines have referred his work on this pitch as ‘out-of-the-world’. Leo Messi contributes with defence, classic midfielder, and a playmaker, despite playing the famous false 9 position in 4-3-3 formation with variation of wide and narrow style. Though, he like to play his natural position of centre-forward or as right winger. With all this, he is found all over the pitch. His heat maps are just not concentrated to one section of the pitch.

I am not saying that CR7 is not Greatest of All Time. CR7 is a Godly player. But I strongly feel, Leo Messi is the Greatest God of All Time among all other Godly players.

At 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup in the Quarter-Final match against Netherlands, Leo Messi’s assist to Nahuel Molina, spearheading EIGHT players of Netherland’s team, the complete defence and midfield with an angle of the pass no other Godly player would dream off and that without looking at the receiver. This was nothing but pure sorcery, as commentators usually defines and describe Leo Messi game, as ‘Pure Sorcery’!

There is no doubt that I am in awe of Leo Messi. But this does not mean that I haven’t loved or respected CR7 or any other Godly players the same as Leo Messi. It is just that among all he is the best and the greatest God. What Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal did in Tennis, Leo Messi does it in Football. The span of his zenith is greater than the combined that of many Godly players.

Yes! Argentina and Leo Messi are World Champions now.

Campeones! Campeones! Olé Olé Olé! Campeones! Campeones! Olé Olé Olé!
Campeones! Campeones! Olé Olé Olé! Campeones! Campeones! Olé Olé Olé!
Campeones! Campeones! Olé Olé Olé! Campeones! Campeones! Olé Olé Olé!
